The event brought together Tech's community of professionals working on AI for lifetime learning to develop a roadmap for research and development and establish the Institute as a leader in the field. Ashok Goel and Steve Harmon co-chaired the symposium, which included a panel, talks, and a poster session.

In 2018-19, C21U worked with others at Georgia Tech Professional Education (GTPE), Georgia State University (GSU), the University System of Georgia (USG), and USG eCampus to plan a series of events on “precision academics.”
